Pipestem Reservoir open to watercraft
One Usable Ramp
KCSi-T.V. News
JAMESTOWN, N.D. – As of today, (Jun 1st) county, state and federal officials have opened Pipestem Reservoir to watercraft. “There is, however, only one useable boat ramp available – the high water ramp at Parkhurst,” says Stutsman County Park Superintendent Dennis Lorenz.
Visitors are reminded that there continue to be significant safety concerns associated with the extremely high water. The other boat ramp and parking areas are still under water, saturated ground conditions make access difficult, and debris and underwater obstructions pose safety hazards.
Pipestem Dam is owned by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and recreation management is conducted by the Stutsman County Park Board under contractual agreement with the Corps.
