Flood Photos from years past
CSi News We have posted several submitted flood photos from years past for your viewing pleasure.
Peter McElroy provided two pictures from circa 1950, prior to Jamestown Dam construction. The photos were from his father John's collection. The exact date is undetermined.
The first picture is looking south from above the location above the now Jamestown Dam. The road on the right is 4th Ave NW coming down from the Fairgrounds. Washington Elementary School can be seen. To the left edge is Jamestown College.

The second McElroy photo is looking East Southeast at Washington Elementary and the football field area. In the distance is Jamestown College and water towers above Jamestown Hospital. The swimming pool at 4th Av & 5th St NW is surrounded by water. The railroad depot, Gladstone Hotel, Lloyds Opera House, and other downtown landmarks can be seen towards the top of the photo.
