The occasion marked the opening of DuraTech’s expansion, a 20-thousand square foot, new north structure, to the operations. The building is being used for engineering and shipping. DuraTech’s Jay Grotrian said the company prior to 2003, was netting sales of 20-million dollars, annually. In 2003 the company invested 2.3-million dollars into the operations, and has steadily grown, to revenues of 41-million dollars in 2007, with 1,874 units produced in Jamestown last year.

Grotrian praised the DuraTech employees, who made the expansion work through their dedication to the company.

In his remarks, Governor Hoeven congratulated the company on its successes, and acknowledged the employees on hand. He praised the Jamestown/Stutsman Development Corporation and CEO Connie Ova for the continuing work of helping businesses grow along with helping to bring new businesses to the community. The Governor noted that since 2000 North Dakota’s manufacturing base has grown over 10-percent while the nation’s manufacturing has decline 20-percent. He pointed to DuraTech’s manufacturing increase along with exporting as an example of how the state’s economy is continuing to diversify, and grow.

Mayor Liechty thanked DuraTech for being in the Jamestown community, adding the community appreciates their employees work. She concluded by thanking Governor Hoeven for coming to Jamestown and recognizing DuraTech.

After the addresses, the official grand opening ribbon was cut by Jay Grotrian, joined by Governor Hoeven, Mayor Liechty and company officials, along with representatives of the Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce.

The ceremony and ribbon cutting were recorded by the KCSi-T.V. 10, THE REPLAY CHANNEL. The complete 18 minute video with comments by Jay Grotrian, Governor Hoeven, and Mayor Liechty is now showing on:
