High Risk Sex Offender Living In Jamestown

Jamestown, ND -- Jamestown Police is warning residents of a convicted sex offender
living in Jamestown.
The report says 36 year old Eureka Lamar Mims has been assigned a high risk assessment
by the North Dakota Attorney General’s Risk Level Committee.
Mims is a black male, 6 feet tall, weighing 245 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
Mims address is 746 2nd Street, Southwest, apartment #1. His most recent address was
the North Dakota State Hospital, Secure Services, Unit.
He was convicted in October of 2001 in Cass County, District Court, on charges of Gross
Sexual Imposition, and sentenced to 10-years in prison with 7-years suspended, for five
years. Mims also was convicted of corruption of a minor, and sentenced for a period of
5-years and serve a period of imprisonment of three years with balance of two years
suspended for a period of five years, to run concurrent with the Gross Sexual Imposition.
Mims is no longer on probation, nor does he have a GPS Monitor.
The police report says a 16-year old girl and a 14-year old girl, enlisted the assistance of
three men to buy cigarettes. After the purchase, Mims and the other two men took the
girls to a Fargo motel, and provided them with alcohol. Mims and one of the other men
had intercourse with both girls. Mims had prior arrests in Chicago, and Stevens County,
Minnesota, for other unrelated offenses.
Mims is not wanted by police at this time.
He has served the sentence imposed by the court. The notification is meant is meant for
public safety and not to increase fear in the community, nor, should this information by
used to threaten, assault, or intimidate the offender. Attempts to harass, intimidate or
threaten these offenders, or their families, landlords, or employers, will be turned over for
prosecution.
